Oh My! Cherry Pie!

Oh My Oh My Oh My!
*breathe* Wow, what can I say, this wedding styled by Gloria Wong (floral arrangements by Nancy Liu Chin and Photography by Lisa Lefkowitz) is AH-MAZING! So many wonderful details. You really MUST check out all the images at Style Me Pretty. I love the cakes buffet slotted into shelves with cute paper backings. and the vintage coloured glasses scattered everywhere. Oh! This is so so beautiful! This wedding is exactly the sort of thing I want Mary and myself to be producing with our new event design business. *faints*

Love is magical

My partner has been taking some time off in Melbourne on a boys trip the past week and he gets back tomorrow. I hate being away from him but it is always good to reflect on how much you love each other when you are apart. I cant wait to see him, I've missed him so much! Ain't Love Grand!

Help! How do they do it? I want it!

I love this stationary that couple Aaron and Pernel had for their wedding. I would love to do something cute like this, but my question is... Where can I find cute borders like on their stationary?? Do people find them online? If so, where? Or do they do them themselves? If so how? Please someone tell me!

Oh and these sorts of borders.... WHERE DO I FIND THEM??? They're so pretty

Tied with Twine - Invitation Inspiration

I love these invitations by (one of my favourites) Flush Designs. Because I am using raw materials such as hessian, calico and twine throughout the wedding, I thought that I would use brown paper paired with a heavy white textured paper and twine, and to bring in the colours of the table runners and flowers, I'll back the table runner fabric to the name tags tied to the invites.

I Heart Garden Party Weddings

How fun and colourful is this fabulous wedding I found on Style Me Pretty? This afternoon tea inspired garden party was photographed by the Youngrens and set up by the bride's amazing mother! Enjoy!

I'm going to make this for my wedding

I love the triangle flags that seem to be all the rage at the moment, but these little flags looks so cute and kitschy. It would be so nice to have theses hanging in the weeping willow that we'll get married next to. I think its time to go fabric scrap shopping!

Another charming engagement shoot

I love the tradition of engagement photo shoots, it isn't that popular here in Australia. It may have something to do with the differences in wedding budgets between the two countries. Gosh I would LOVE to do work experience with a wedding designer in the U.S. Somehow my and my new business partner's role (once we are fully up and running) will be to convince the brides of Adelaide that spending money on a wedding planner/designer iespecially ones as creative as us :) ) is worth while, and we don't need to spend a year or two's salary on their wedding. Anyway back to the topic of engagement photo shoots... There seems to be a 'space race' I guess you could call it, for who can come up with the most creative photo shoots. I have posted my favourites a while ago here and here and now this (along with the photo shoot in the post below) is a new addition to my favourite engagement photos.
I love these photos of laying out the picnic rug...hmmm perfect for my summer picnic wedding...might have to nick the idea! I can't help it if Erin Hearts Court are so creative it makes me jealous!

Fabrics

Here are the fabrics I am using for the table runners and other touches around our wedding (I have posted them before but the colours weren't right in the photo). The hessian will go underneath the stripe in a wider runner. I think I am also going to make a few cushions out of the stripe to go on the white picnic rugs outside - or maybe have the stripe as the picnic rugs..hmmm...
I am not sure how my choice of flowers is going to go... I might have to change the colours slightly to match...

Anyway, I got this amazing bunch or oriental lilies from Jarrod's mum for getting my honours and they have opened up so beautifully, I have never seen so many flowers - in the bunch there are 14 flowers!
